The Seventeenth Annual AFC Micro Salon will again this year be held on the premises of La fémis on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 January 2017. This will be the opportunity for fifty-nine associate AFC members – as well as ten AFSI partners – to demonstrate their know-how and latest innovations to visitors, and share a few moments of conviviality with them. Accessing La fémis and the Micro Salon
Because of the ongoing applicability of the Plan Vigipirate for the prevention of major risks in France, the highest level of security procedures will be followed. This means that access to La fémis will only be allowed upon presentation of the enrollment confirmation to the Micro Salon (printed e-invitation/barcode or shown on a smartphone) and after the usual security checks (metal detector and inspection of bags and personal belongings). We remind you that bags larger than a carry-on piece of luggage will not be admitted past the security checkpoint at the entrance.
Another important reminder : the only invitation that will enable you to receive an entrance badge is the obligatory confirmation of your enrollment on our website (see below).
We remind you that visitors will not be able to access the four floors of the Micro Salon unless they have first obtained their badge from the welcome desk at the main entrance of the building, and that visitors may only use the central staircase inside the building to go from floor to floor.

Just after the welcome desk, the professional press will make its magazines available to visitors, including “special editions” on the Micro Salon. All visitors will be able to visit the Micro Salon in the order that best suits their individual interests and in function of the screenings. As concerns the latter, the program has not yet been finalized, but they will take place at two different times : on Friday, from 11 am to 6 pm with a break around 1 pm – and Saturday, with no break, from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
On the basement level, visitors will meet an AFC Surprise Guest and will be able to chat with the moderators of the Cinematographie.info forum. On the ground floor, near the coffee and refreshments stand, the assistant operators of the AOA and the digital image technicians of the A-DIT will be holding their salon-corner.
One of the highlights of the 17th annual Micro Salon will take place on Saturday, 28 January beginning at 10:30 am in the Salle Jean Renoir, where Carte Blanche will be given to our Indian colleagues this year. Three associations exist in India : the ISC (Indian Society of Cinematographers), the SICA (Southern India Cinematographers’ Association) and the WICA (Western India Cinematographers’ Association). These associations will be introduced to the public and this introduction will be followed by a screening of short clips from films, which will be the opportunity for Sunny Joseph, the President of the ISC, Savita Singh and Govind Nihalani, ISC, WICA, to shed light on the work of their colleagues.

The AFC will once again share its Micro Salon with the AFSI (Association française du son à l’image) by making a Sound Space available to the latter on the 1st floor. Its ten partners – A4 Audio, Aaton Digital, AEI, AETA Audio Systems, Areitec, Audio 2, Cinéla, Sennheiser, Tapages & Nocturnes, VDB Audio – will present their know-how and their latest products.
Under the auspices of the CNC, the Paris Images Trade Show, of which the CST, the Ficam, Film France, the Micro Salon AFC, the Paris Images Digital Summit, the Paris Images Cinéma, the Paris Images Location Expo, and the Paris Images Pro are members, will unite their voices to show off the excellence and dynamism of French technical industries and technicians to foreign professionals.

In conclusion, the 17th annual Micro Salon wouldn’t be possible without the renewed support of the CNC, our host La fémis, and the 59 AFC associate members that, each year, present their latest innovations and the best of their know-how to our eager visitors, creating the opportunity for new meetings and quality discussions. We thank them in advance in the name of all the AFC’s member Directors of Photography.
